Grok Bot
Grok Bots run in xAI’s cloud, not on your computers. Connect them two ways: sync your Grok Bots onto the team chart, or use one as your own assistant that knows what’s waiting on you.
Put your Grok Bots on the team chart
- Name them. Include “Tico” in the name or instructions of each Grok Bot you want in Tico.
- Make a token. In Tico, open Settings → Computers → API tokens and create one called “Grok Bot sync”.
- Connect one Grok Bot to Tico. Open Connect an external agent in Tico’s sidebar and copy the MCP URL it shows. Ask Grok to add a custom MCP server:
Type the token in yourself.Field Value URL https://tico.example.com/api/v2/mcpHeader Authorization: Bearer <token> - Paste the routine below and ask it to run once now, then daily.
Tico sync. Use the Tico MCP tools. 1. List every Bot on my account. Keep the ones whose name, description or full instructions contain “tico” in any capitalisation. Do not include yourself unless you match. 2. Call hub_grokbot_sync once with those Bots and no messages, each with grok_id (the id in grok.com/bot/<id>), name, description and the full instructions verbatim, and source set to your own name. 3. For each Bot, read its conversations and collect every message newer than the synced_through Tico returned for it (all of them if it is empty), oldest first, as role (user or bot), text verbatim, at (ISO time) and id if Grok gives one, and images for any image in the message: its https url, or for a file on your computer content_base64 (under 5 MB) with a name. Send them with hub_grokbot_sync, at most 200 messages per Bot per call, repeating until all are sent. 4. Tell me in one line per Bot what Tico added. Change nothing in Grok.
Each synced Grok Bot appears on your team chart with its instructions and history. Only the owner and bot admins can sync.
Use a Grok Bot as your assistant
- In Tico, open Connect an external agent, choose Grok Bot, and click Create token.
- Copy the block Tico shows and paste it into your Grok Bot. It adds Tico as an MCP server and teaches it the “who needs me” skill.
- Ask it: “Who needs me?”
Add a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP):
Name: Tico
URL: https://tico.example.com/api/v2/mcp
Header: Authorization: Bearer <token>
Then follow this skill: …Use the URL from Connect an external agent. The default Docker install accepts personal tokens at your main Tico address; no separate runner hostname is needed. A separate token endpoint is needed only if an external authentication proxy intercepts token requests.
